Ambassador Arunrung Phothong Humphreys and the representatives of the World Tipitaka Foundation present the World Tipiṭaka Saj-jhā-ya Phonetic Recitation Editions to the Uppsala University Library.

On 12 May 2025, H.E. Ms. Arunrung Phothong Humphreys, Ambassador of Thailand to Sweden, as representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, together with Thanpuying Varaporn Pramoj Na Ayudhaya, President of the World Tipitaka Foundation, M.L. Pagamal Kasemsri, Vice President of the World Tipitaka Foundation, and Ms. Anintita Posakrisna, Member of the Foundation’s Board, formally presented the World Tipiṭaka Saj-jhā-ya Phonetic Recitation Editions, the King Bhumibol Adulyadej Edition and the Queen Sirikit Edition, published in 2016, totaling 80 volumes, to the Carolina Rediviva Library, Uppsala University. The set was received by Professor Anders Hagfeldt, Vice-Chancellor of the University. Also in attendance were Ms. Johanna Hansson, Director of Uppsala University Library, Professor Cecilia Wejryd, Dean of Faculty of Theology, senior university administrators, student marshals, Phra Vites Punyaporn, Buddharam Temple, Sweden, Phramaha Sathaporn Chaiyaocha, Wat Buddhasothorn Uppsala, Defence Air Attaché and officials from the Royal Thai Embassy in Stockholm.

The World Tipitaka Saj- jhā-ya Phonetic Recitation Editions was first published in 2016 to commemorate Their Majesties King Bhumibol Adulyadej, Rama IX, and Queen Sirikit of Thailand’s 70-year reign. It is an innovation in linguistics, music, and computer engineering. The King Edition was presented with Siam-Pali Phonetic Symbols and the Queen Edition was presented by Pali Monotone Music Notation for precise pronunciation.

The presentation of the World Tipitaka 2016 Editions was part of a global dissemination project to honor the auspicious occasion of His Majesty the King's 6th Cycle Birthday Anniversary July 28, 2024. A collaboration between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand and the World Tipitaka Foundation, the project aims to donate the specially printed Tipitaka Editions to libraries, institutions and organizations in over 36 countries, including Sweden, where His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great and Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother once paid official visits or which have cordial ties with Thailand. The Carolina Rediviva library is also housed the Chulachomklao Tipitaka 1893 Edition and the Roman-Script Tipitaka 2005 Edition, which were presented as a Royal Gift from Thailand to Sweden.
