On 19 July 2025, Her Excellency Ambassador Arunrung Phothong Humphreys, along with officials from the Royal Thai Embassy and Team Thailand, accompanied by their families, participated in the annual commemoration ceremony of His Majesty King Chulalongkorn's visit to Ragunda. The event took place at the King Chulalongkorn Memorial Pavilion in Utanede, Bispgården, and was organized by the Ragunda Municipality.
The delegation joined the procession to offer bouquets of flowers alongside representatives from the Ragunda Municipality, Thai people with their Swedish families from various cities across Sweden including Sundsvall, Örnsköldsvik, and Uppsala, and a representative from the Thai-Swedish Association 1897 Foundation.
Mr. Anton Waara, Mayor of Ragunda Municipality, delivered a speech recalling King Chulalongkorn's visit to Sweden. He emphasized that the visit served as a bridge, introducing Thailand and Sweden to each other and marking the beginning of the relations that continue between the two countries to this day.
On this occasion, the Ambassador highlighted the significance of the King Chulalongkorn Memorial Pavilion in Ragunda. Built to commemorate the King's visit to Sweden on July 19, 1897, it stands as a symbol of Thai-Swedish friendship. She also underscored the ongoing cooperation between the Royal Thai Embassy and Ragunda Municipality in maintaining and developing the site.
This year also marked the second installment of the "Thai Festival in Ragunda." organised by the Royal Thai Embassy in collaboration with the Thai community in Sweden and Ragunda Kommun. The festival aims to promote Thai culture to international audiences and create a Thai atmosphere for Thai people living abroad. The event featured fruit carving demonstrations, traditional Thai dessert making, Thai dance, Muay Thai, Thai massage, traditional Thai games, and sales of Thai food and products.
