Director-General of the Department of International Organizations chairs the Sub-Committee on the Coordination of International Human Rights Obligations Implementation

On 22 May 2025, Ms. Pinsuda Jayanama, Director-General of the Department of International Organizations, chaired the Sub-Committee on the Coordination of International Human Rights Obligations Implementation at the Ministry of Justice, with the Vice-Chairs, Mrs. Jatuporn Rojanapanich, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, and Ms. Aimon Siangyai, Director-General of the Rights and Liberties Protection Department, Ministry of Justice. The joint secretariat was supported by the Department of Rights and Liberties Protection of the Ministry of Justice, the Permanent Secretary Office of the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, and the Department of International Organizations.

The meeting noted progress on the implementation of international human rights instruments to which Thailand is a party, as well as the status in drafting and in preparing the presentation of state party’s report to the respective human rights treaty bodies, such as the preparation for the presentation of Thailand’s eighth periodic report on the implementation of the Convention of the Elimination of all Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW). The Sub-Committee also approved the workplan on the implementation of international obligations under core human rights treaties and the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) mechanism for the period between May and September 2025. In addition, the meeting discussed key recommendations from human rights treaty bodies and the UPR 3rd Cycle on Thailand’s legislation and relevant international human rights standards.
