at the Joint Management and Monitoring Center for the Situation in the Middle East

1. Developments on the Situation in the Middle East

  • The situation in the region remains highly volatile, with escalating attacks expanding from military targets to critical infrastructure across countries, raising concerns of further escalation.
  • As the situation remains uncertain, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs urges Thai nationals to consider leaving high-risk areas as soon as possible and to closely follow updates and guidance through the official communication channels of the Royal Thai Embassies and Consulates-General responsible for their respective areas. Thai nationals are also encouraged to register their residence and contact information with the relevant Embassies and Consulates-General.

 

2. Case on the death of a Thai national in Israel

  • The Ministry of Foreign Affairs was informed by the Royal Thai Embassy in Tel Aviv that Israeli authorities confirmed the death of one Thai national on 18 March 2026. The Embassy has already contacted the family of the deceased.
  • The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is closely coordinating with the Ministry of Labour and Israeli authorities for relevant procedures.
  • The Royal Thai Government and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs extend their deepest condolences to the family of the deceased.

 

3. Developments on Assistance Provided to Thai Nationals in the Area

  • 2 Thai nationals who traveled from Iran across the border to Van, Türkiye, returned to Thailand safely on the morning of 19 March 2026.
  • The Royal Thai Embassies in Tehran and Ankara are coordinating the evacuation of 4 Thai workers from Bandar Abbas, who are scheduled to cross into Türkiye on 23 March 2026 before returning to Thailand.
  • Thai nationals in Iran who wish to return are urged to register with the Royal Thai Embassy in Tehran at the earliest opportunity, while those remaining in the Middle East are advised to closely follow official updates, regularly assess their safety, and strictly adhere to official guidance.
  • All Royal Thai Embassies and Consulates-General in the Middle East remain ready to provide assistance, facilitation, and guidance to Thai nationals to ensure their safety.
  • A total of 1,173 Thai nationals have been assisted in departing from countries in the Middle East to Thailand or to third countries.

 

  • The Government remains firmly committed to assisting Thai nationals affected by the conflict in the Middle East and ensuring their safe departure from high-risk areas at the earliest possible opportunity.
