On 23 September 2025, Mrs. Krongkanit Rakcharoen, Director-General of the Department of European Affairs, co-chaired the 5th Thailand - Lithuania Political Consultations with Mr. Ričardas Šlepavičius, Director of Indo-Pacific, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania in Vilnius.

Both sides discussed ways to strengthen cooperation, particularly in the fields of life sciences, digital economy, cybersecurity, space technology, and education, as well as the expansion of trade and investment, including a timely conclusion for the Thailand - EU FTA negotiations, Lithuania’s support for Thailand’s accession to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and the waiver of visa for Thai ordinary passport holders entering the Schengen area.

The Director-General also had a discussion with Mr. Julius Pranevičius, Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, during a working lunch, on regional and global issues, including developments in ASEAN and the Indo-Pacific region, the situation in Ukraine and the situation along the Thailand - Cambodia border.
