On 8 February 2024, Her Excellency Ms. Cecilia Zunilda Galarreta Bazán, Ambassador of the Republic of Peru to the Kingdom of Thailand, paid a courtesy call on His Excellency Mr. Russ Jalichandra, Advisor to the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Both sides discussed the strengthening of Thai – Peruvian ties, whose 60th anniversary will be commemorated in 2025, with emphasis on the promotion of the exchanges of high-level visits and economic cooperation, including the finalization of the full Thailand – Peru Closer Economic Partnership Agreement (TPCEP) by 2024.

The Advisor also expressed Thailand’s readiness in hosting the 6th Meeting of Thailand-Peru Joint Commission for Bilateral Cooperation and congratulated Peru upon being granted the status of ASEAN Development Partner. He also reiterated Thailand’s full support to Peru for a successful APEC host year in 2024.
