On 9 July 2025, Mr. Pongprach Makchang, Ambassador attached to the Ministry, together with an official from the Middle East Division, delivered a special lecture on the Ministry’s role in supporting and promoting Thai students in the Middle East. This session was organized by the Bangkok Islamic International College, Krirk University, as part of the 2nd International Muslim Open House, held at the Foundation for the Islamic Centre of Thailand.

Ambassador Pongprach provided an overview of the role of the Ministry, including Thai Embassies and Consulates-General abroad, in assisting and supporting over 6,000 Thai Muslim students currently studying in 17 countries. The Ministry carries out its support through a three-phase framework: (1) Pre-departure such as orientation programmes for freshers and academic advisory sessions for current students; (2) During studies such as the Embassy’s Clinic project, friendly sports games, social gatherings during major festivals and health check-ups for students; and(3) Post-graduation such as final-year orientations, skills development workshops to enhance employability and personality development training, etc.

The objective of the Open House was to provide guidance, preparatory support and broaden educational opportunities for Thai Muslim students interested in pursuing higher education, both in Thailand and abroad, particularly in Arabic-speaking countries. The event also featured exhibitions and educational guidance booths from more than 30 leading institutions in Thailand and abroad, including universities and alumni associations.
