On 14 July 2025, H.E. Mrs. Lalivan Kanchanachari, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs, attended the National Day celebration of the French Republic on behalf of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and presented a congratulatory bouquet conveying the Thai Government’s well wishes to H.E. Mr. Jean-Claude Poimboeuf, Ambassador of the French Republic to Thailand.

The Vice Minister delivered a speech reaffirming the strength and breadth of the Thai - French partnership, which spans multiple areas including trade, defence and security, clean energy, education, and culture. She highlighted, in particular, the continued prominence of the French language as one of the most widely taught foreign languages in Thai schools nationwide, reflecting the depth of cultural ties and enduring cooperation between the two nations. The Vice Minister also noted a series of events scheduled for 2026 to celebrate the 170 years of formal diplomatic relations between Thailand and France.
