On 27 May 2025, the Royal Thai Embassy organised the “Volunteer Teaching of Thai Culture to Japanese Youths” activity at Togoshi Elementary School to honour Her Majesty Queen Suthida Bajrasudhabimalalakshana on the auspicious occasion of Her Majesty’s Birthday Anniversary, 3 June 2025. H.E. Mr. Witchu Vejjajiva, Ambassador of Thailand to Japan, led officials and staff of the Royal Thai Embassy, members of Team Thailand and their families in conducting activities to impart knowledge on Thailand to
approximately 100 participants, including sixth-grade students, the school principal and homeroom teachers, as well as officers from Shinagawa City.

Activities comprised an introduction to Thailand, a Q&A session, the teaching of Thai songs and traditional Thai games, as well as “Ram Wong” dancing. In exchange, the school principal led volunteers in the “Shinagawa Ondo”, a traditional Bon Odori-style dance from Shinagawa City. These activities help enhance the cordial relations between the Royal Thai Embassy and the local communities by sharing and creating a better understanding about Thailand and its culture among Japanese youths, teachers, parents and the general public residing in Shinagawa City. The school principal and teachers expressed their appreciation for volunteers in providing learning opportunities for children through first-hand experience in interacting with the Thai people. Furthermore, the Royal Thai Embassy donated books on Thailand to the school’s library as educational resources. The activity was broadcasted on a local channel by Shinagawa City as well.
