From 23 to 29 September 2025, the United Nations will convene high-level meetings and side events during the High-level Week of the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA80 High-level Week) at its Headquarters in New York. This annual gathering is significant as it is the largest multilateral forum held annually. This year, the President of the United Nations General Assembly (PGA) has chosen the theme for the 80th Session of the UNGA to be "Better together: 80 years and more for peace, development and human rights," inviting member states to reflect on and invest in the benefits and outcomes of a joint drive for peace, development and human rights.
Thailand’s priorities for this UNGA session include achieving peace and security through a reaffirmation of the United Nations Charter, the ASEAN Charter, and international law; addressing global economic volatility by joining key conversations on the direction of economic policy and tools; advancing Thailand’s active role in strengthening human security and advancing sustainable development; and protecting and promoting human rights, while adhering to our long-recognized humanitarian tradition.
The Thai delegation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will comprise senior ministry officials, including the Permanent Secretary, Thailand's Ambassador to the United States, Thailand's Ambassador/Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York, and the Directors-General of the relevant departments ready to attend various meetings and events and to engage with representatives of the United Nations and other Member States on key priorities.
