On 24 September 2025, H.E. Mr. Cherdchai Chaivaivid, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Thailand to the United Nations in New York, together with Ms. Rujikorn Saengchantr, Director-General of the Department of International Economic Affairs, participated in the “First Biennial Summit for a Sustainable, Inclusive and Resilient Global Economy: Implementing Commitments on Financing the SDGs” held during the UNGA80 High-level Week.

The said Summit is the initiative of the UN Secretary-General to be held every two years. It will serve as a platform for heads of multilateral institutions and world leaders to discuss financing for development to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals in the last 5 years before 2030, particularly the implementation of the Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development, or the Sevilla Commitment, which aims to close the annual 4 trillion USD SDGs funding gap in developing countries.

The Permanent Representative delivered a statement underscoring Thailand’s efforts and approaches in promoting green and sustainable innovative financing; combating illicit financial flows and transnational organized crime, particularly online scams; reforming the international financial architecture; and forging stronger global partnerships, including through engagement with OECD.
