On 24 September 2026, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs met with H.E. Mr. Ahmed Attaf, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, on the sidelines of the High-level Week of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly.

Both sides discussed strengthening diplomatic cooperation and promoting trade and investment and highlighted the importance of energy cooperation and Thailand’s energy investment in Algeria. The Deputy Prime Minister also underscored the importance of the Thailand-Africa Initiative (TAI) in advancing partnerships and expanding Thailand’s cooperation with countries across Africa.
