On 22 July 2026, H.E. Mr. Vijavat Isarabhakdi, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs, attended the reception on the occasion of the 216th anniversary of the Independence Day of the Republic of Colombia.

Guests observed a moment of silence in remembrance of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother and Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendiradebyavati Kromluang Rajasarinisiribajra Mahavajrarajadhita.

The Vice Minister extended congratulations to the government and people of Colombia on the occasion. He highlighted the cordial ties between Thailand and Colombia spanning more than four decades, as well as ongoing bilateral cooperation, particularly under the 3-year Development Cooperation Plan (2025 - 2027), which serves as an important mechanism for exchanging best practices and knowledge in their respective areas of expertise. The Vice Minister also reaffirmed Thailand's commitment to further strengthening bilateral relations between Thailand and Colombia.

In addition, the Vice Minister and guests enjoyed a salsa dance performance by the Fundación Ensálsate dance troupe from Colombia, a foundation established to train and develop dance careers for young people.
