On 12 June 2026, H.E. Mr. Sarun Charoensuwan, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs, attended a National Day reception of the Republic of the Philippines, commemorating the 128th Anniversary of Philippine Independence and Nationhood. H.E. Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister, attended as the Guest of Honour.

The Prime Minister and H.E. Mrs. Millicent Cruz Paredes, Ambassador of the Philippines to Thailand, together with all the attendees, observed a moment of silence in honour of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother and Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendiradebyavati Kromluangrajasarinisiribajra Mahavajrarajadhita.

The Prime Minister reaffirmed Thailand’s commitment to enhancing cooperation with the Philippines on trade and investment, especially in the areas of food and energy security, and digital economy. He also reaffirmed his full support for the Philippines’ ASEAN Chairmanship this year and expressed hope to undertake an official visit to the Philippines in the future.
