On 11 July 2025, on the sidelines of the Dubrovnik Forum 2025, H.E. Mr. Russ Jalichandra, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs, had a bilateral meeting with H.E. Mr. Mathias Cormann, Secretary-General of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).

The Vice Minister reaffirmed Thailand’s strong commitment to the OECD accession process, aiming to become an active and impactful member by 2030. He emphasized Thailand’s ongoing efforts to align domestic policies and regulations with OECD standards, with a focus on enhancing competitiveness and promoting inclusive, sustainable, and rules-based development. He also highlighted key initiatives to strengthen transparency, good governance, and economic resilience.

On the same day, the Vice Minister met with several ministers, including H.E. Mr. Andrii Sybiha, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, H.E. Mr. Gordan Grlić Radman, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of Croatia, H.E. Ms. Maka Botchorishvili, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Georgia, and H.E. Mr. Anderson Machado, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Peru. He expressed Thailand’s readiness to enhance bilateral cooperation with the respective countries and sought support for Thailand’s candidatures in various multilateral frameworks, such as the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea (ITLOS) for the 2026–2035 term.

Additionally, on 12 July 2025, the Vice Minister had a bilateral meeting with H.E. Mr. Elnur Mammadov, Deputy Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan. Both sides agreed to strengthen bilateral relations and cooperation across various sectors, including through the sigining of the MoU on Political Consultations between the ministries of both sides and the convening of the first political consultations in Thailand. The Thai side looked forward to welcoming H.E. Mr. Elnur Mammadov on a visit to Thailand and the inauguration of the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbijan by the end of this year.
