On 31 July 2024, H.E. Dr. Nassereddin Heidari, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Kingdom of Thailand, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Russ Jalichandra, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs, to enhance bilateral relations. Both sides discussed ways to promote Thailand-Iran relations in potential areas, namely trade, tourism, culture, science and technology as well as cooperation under the Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) framework. The Iranian Ambassador also expressed his readiness to support Thailand on its candidature to become a member of BRICS.
