On 11 August 2026, H.E. Mr. Sarun Charoensuwan, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs, met with Mr. Namazu Hiroyuki, Senior Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, during the latter’s visit to Thailand to co-chair the 11th Japan - Thailand Political Partnership Consultations (JTPPC) with Ms. Eksiri Pintaruchi, Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs.
Both sides discussed ways to support Thailand - Japan cooperation and friendship, as well as strengthen their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, particularly on the occasion of the 140th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Japan in 2027. They also exchanged views on regional developments.
