On 21 April 2025, H.E. Mr. Maris Sangiampongsa, Minister of Foreign Affairs, received a courtesy call and had a discussion with H.E. Mr. Ma Zhaoxu, Vice Foreign Minister of the People’s Republic of China, during the latter’s visit to Thailand to attend the 81st Session of the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP).

Both sides followed up on the outcomes of the Prime Minister’s official visit to China and her discussions with Chinese leaders in February 2025, as well as exchanged views on regional developments and emerging challenges to the international trade system. They also discussed ways forward to strengthen cooperation and coordination between Thailand and China at the bilateral and multilateral levels, with the shared goal of promoting sustainable development, prosperity, stability and human security for the people of the two countries, the region and beyond.
