On 11 June 2026, H.E. Mr. Sarun Charoensuwan, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs, attended the reception on the occasion of the National Day of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, held at the Siam Kempinski Hotel, Bangkok.
The Vice Foreign Minister extended his felicitations to Their Royal Highnesses Grand Duke Guillaume and Grand Duchess Stéphanie of Luxembourg. He emphasised the close and longstanding ties between the two nations that have spanned over seven decades and are founded upon the strong bonds between the Royal Families. He also welcomed the continued progress of bilateral cooperation across all areas, particularly in trade and investment, digital transformation, green finance, as well as trilateral development cooperation between the Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA) and the Luxembourg Agency for Development Cooperation (LuxDev), and the significant growth in tourism exchanges between Thailand and Luxembourg.
In addition, the Vice Foreign Minister expressed appreciation for Luxembourg’s support for the Thailand - European Union Free Trade Agreement (Thailand - EU FTA) negotiations and Thailand's target to accede to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) by 2028, which would elevate the country's economic standards and enhance its global competitiveness.
