On 28 August 2025, H.E. Mrs. Lalivan Karnchanachari, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs, had a discussion with H.E. Mr. Park Yongmin, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea (ROK) to Thailand.

Both sides discussed ways to strengthen the Thailand - ROK Strategic Partnership, particularly cultural and economic cooperation, including tourism and cultural exchange, and utilization of the Thailand - ROK Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA), which is currently under negotiation. On investment, the Vice Minister expressed readiness to facilitate more investment in Thailand from ROK businesses.

Ambassador Park also provided updates on the ROK’s new policy towards the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK), and sought the Vice Minister’s views on the Thailand - Cambodia border situation, in which the Vice Minister reiterated Thailand’s position to resolve the matter peacefully through bilateral mechanisms.
