On 19 March 2021, H.E. Mr. Vijavat Isarabhakdi, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs, had a meeting, via video conference, with H.E. Mr. Niels Annen, Minister of State, German Federal Foreign Office. Both sides discussed a number of bilateral issues and exchanged information regarding the Covid-19 pandemic as well as current developments in Myanmar.
The relations between Thailand and Germany have been close and cordial at all levels. At present, both Thailand and Germany are preparing to commemorate the 160th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations in 2022. Both sides also discussed EU-ASEAN relations, which were elevated to Strategic Partnership level in 2020.
