On 20 November 2025, Ms. Pinsuda Jayanama, Director-General of the Department of International Organizations, received Dr. Ailan Li, Representative of the World Health Organization (WHO) to Thailand, on the occasion of the presentation of her credentials to officially assume her position.
 
Both sides discussed cooperation between Thailand and the WHO on health issues. The Director-General congratulated the WHO representative to Thailand on assuming the position and reaffirmed the Ministry’s readiness, in collaboration with the Ministry of Public Health, to continue supporting the work of the WHO in advancing health diplomacy. She also shared views on the drafting of the next WHO Country Cooperation Strategy (WHO CCS) between Thailand and the WHO.
 
The WHO representative to Thailand commended Thailand’s active role in global health diplomacy, in the WHO and the United Nations General Assembly. She praised Thailand’s leadership on Universal Health Coverage (UHC), employing health taxes for health promotion and mitigating the risk of noncommunicable diseases (NCDs), the WHO Pandemic Agreement negotiations and advancing public health through the PMAC Conference. She also expressed appreciation to the Department of International Organizations, Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA) and Department of Protocol for facilitating the WHO’s work and conveyed the WHO’s readiness to support Thailand’s work on health matters.
