เมื่อวันที่ ๑ กันยายน ๒๕๖๖ นายวราวุธ ภู่อภิญญา เอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงเวลลิงตัน พร้อมด้วยข้าราชการสถานเอกอัครราชทูตฯ ได้เข้าร่วมกิจกรรม “พี่ถึงน้อง” ซึ่งจัดขึ้นโดยสมาคมนักเรียนไทยในเวลลิงตัน และสมาคมคนไทยในเวลลิงตัน มหาวิทยาลัยวิคตอเรีย กรุงเวลลิงตัน วิทยาเขต Pipitea มีผู้เข้าร่วมกว่า ๖๕ คน
กิจกรรมนี้ มีจุดประสงค์เพื่อเปิดโอกาสให้นักเรียนและนักศึกษาไทยที่กําลังศึกษาอยู่ในกรุงเวลลิงตันได้รับความรู้เกี่ยวกับการทํางาน ประสบการณ์ และมุมมองจากรุ่นพี่ซึ่งปัจจุบันเป็นผู้เชี่ยวชาญในสาขาต่าง ๆ ที่ทำงานในกรุงเวลลิงตัน เพื่อเป็นข้อมูลสําหรับน้อง ๆ ประกอบการตัดสินใจในการเลือกอาชีพในอนาคตหลังสําเร็จการศึกษา พร้อมกันนี้ เอกอัครราชทูตฯ ได้พูดคุยและให้โอวาทกับนักเรียน นักศึกษาที่มาเข้าร่วมกิจกรรมในการใช้ชีวิตในต่างประเทศ และแสวงหาความรู้และวิทยาการจากโรงเรียนและสิ่งแวดล้อมในประเทศนิวซีแลนด์ให้มากที่สุด นอกจากนี้ ผู้เข้าร่วมกิจกรรมยังได้โอกาสทำความรู้จักและสร้างเครือข่ายกับผู้เชี่ยวชาญและนักเรียนคนอื่น ๆ
สถานเอกอัครราชทูตฯ ขอขอบคุณสมาคมนักเรียนไทยในเวลลิงตัน และสมาคมคนไทยในเวลลิงตันที่จัดกิจกรรมดี ๆ นี้ขึ้นเพื่อให้โอกาสนักเรียน นักศึกษาไทยได้เรียนรู้เกี่ยวกับสายอาชีพต่าง ๆ และส่งเสริมความรู้ในการเลือกอาชีพให้กับนักเรียนและนักศึกษาไทยในประเทศนิวซีแลนด์ รวมทั้งความเอื้ออาทร และสร้างความสามัคคีระหว่างคนไทยด้วยกัน
On the 1st of September 2023, Mr. Waravuth Pouapinya, Ambassador of Thailand to New Zealand, along with officials and staffs from the Royal Thai Embassy, participated in the event "Pi Teung Nong," (from the Seniors to the Juniors) organized by the Thai Students Association of Wellington and the Thai Community in Wellington. The event took place at Pipitea Campus, Victoria University of Wellington (VUW).
The objective of this event was to provide Thai students the opportunity to explore career options and gain insights from their seniors into working in New Zealand. They engaged with previous Thai students who are now professionals from various sectors of New Zealand society, learning about their experiences and perspectives on working life in Wellington. During the event, The Ambassador delivered an opening remark and exchanged views with those in attendance. More than 65 Thai students participated in this event to get a chance to network with the panelists and fellow students.
The Royal Thai Embassy extends its gratitude to the Thai Students Association of Wellington and the Thai Community in Wellington for organizing this constructive event, aiming to promote career exploration and knowledge sharing among Thai students in New Zealand.
