เมื่อวันที่ ๑๘ ตุลาคม ๒๕๖๖ นายวราวุธ ภู่อภิญญา เอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงเวลลิงตัน พร้อมด้วยเจ้าหน้าที่สถานเอกอัครราชทูตฯ ได้เยือนโรงเรียน Kapiti College ณ เมือง Kapiti เพื่อพบหารือกับนาย Tony Kane ครูใหญ่ และเจ้าหน้าที่ที่ดูแลนักเรียนนานาชาติ เพื่อแสวงหาความร่วมมือด้านการศึกษาและวัฒนธรรมร่วมกันในอนาคต รวมถึงได้พบปะกับนักเรียนไทยและเยี่ยมชมบริเวณโรงเรียน

โรงเรียน Kapiti College เป็นโรงเรียนภาครัฐระดับมัธยม (Year ๙-๑๓) มีนักเรียนทั้งหมด ๑,๕๐๐ คน แบ่งเป็นนักเรียนนานาชาติ ๖๐ คน ในจำนวนนี้เป็นนักเรียนไทย ๑๕ คน ถือเป็นสัดส่วนนักเรียนนานาชาติที่มากที่สุดเป็นลำดับสองรองจากนักเรียนจีน ซึ่งโรงเรียนให้ความสำคัญอย่างมากต่อการรับนักเรียนนานาชาติเข้าเรียน และมีโครงการแลกเปลี่ยนและกิจกรรมเปิดโลกทัศน์ระหว่างประเทศอยู่เป็นประจำ รวมถึงกับสถาบันการศึกษาในประเทศไทย

On 18 October 2023, Ambassador Waravuth Pouapinya and Royal Thai Embassy officials visited Kapiti College to discuss with Mr. Tony Kane, the school’s principal, and international programme officers about cooperation on educational exchange programmes and cultural activities in the future. The Ambassador also met with Thai students and visited school facilities.

Kapiti College is a coeducational state secondary school (Years 9–13) with enrollment of 1,500 students, consisting of 60 international students, with 15 Thai students, making up the second largest proportion of international students at the school, following the Chinese students. The institution places importance on international linkages, and is active in organizing various educational exchange programmes and cultural activities for students, faculty members, and the local community.
