เมื่อวันอังคารที่ ๒ ธันวาคม ๒๕๖๘ เวลา ๑๘.๐๐-๒๐.๐๐ น. นางกรรณมน เสนาณรงค์ อุปทูตฯ สถานเอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงเวลลิงตัน ได้เป็นเจ้าภาพจัดงานเลี้ยงรับรองเนื่องในโอกาสวันคล้ายวันพระบรมราชสมภพ พระบาทสมเด็จพระบรมชนกาธิเบศร มหาภูมิพลอดุลยเดชมหาราช บรมนาถบพิตร วันชาติและวันพ่อแห่งชาติ วันที่ ๕ ธันวาคม ๒๕๖๘ ณ สถานเอกอัครราชทูตฯ โดยได้รับเกียรติจากนาย Grahame Morton รองปลัดกระทรวงการต่างประเทศและการค้า นิวซีแลนด์ ฝ่ายเอเชียและอเมริกา (Deputy Secretary of the Asia and Americas Group, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade) เป็นแขกเกียรติยศ พร้อมด้วยนาย Alfredo Pérez Bravo คณบดีคณะทูตและเอกอัครราชทูตเม็กซิโกประจำนิวซีแลนด์ โดยมีผู้เข้าร่วมกว่า 200 คน อาทิ คณะทูตานุทูต สมาชิกสภาผู้แทนราษฎรนิวซีแลนด์ หน่วยงานภาครัฐ ภาคเอกชน สถาบันการศึกษา ชุมชนไทยในนิวซีแลนด์
ในช่วงพิธีการ ได้มีการเปิดวิดีทัศน์การเสด็จพระราชดำเนินเยือนนิวซีแลนด์อย่างเป็นทางการของพระบาทสมเด็จ พระบรมชนกาธิเบศร มหาภูมิพลอดุลยเดชมหาราช บรมนาถบพิตร และสมเด็จพระนางเจ้าสิริกิติ์ พระบรมราชินีนาถ พระบรมราชชนนีพันปีหลวง เมื่อวันที่ ๑๘-๒๖ สิงหาคม ๒๕๐๕ (ค.ศ. ๑๙๖๒) ซึ่งเป็นการวางรากฐานสำคัญต่อการเจริญสัมพันธไมตรีระหว่างไทยกับนิวซีแลนด์
จากนั้น อุปทูตฯ ได้กล่าวสุนทรพจน์ถวายความอาลัยต่อการสวรรคตของสมเด็จพระนางเจ้าสิริกิติ์ พระบรมราชินีนาถ พระบรมราชชนนีพันปีหลวง และเทิดพระเกียรติพระบาทสมเด็จพระบรมชนกาธิเบศร มหาภูมิพลอดุลยเดชมหาราช บรมนาถบพิตร และความสำคัญของวันที่ ๕ ธันวาคม ต่อชาวไทย รวมทั้งกล่าวถึงความสัมพันธ์ทางการทูตระหว่างไทยกับนิวซีแลนด์ ซึ่งจะครบรอบ ๗๐ ปี ในปี ๒๕๖๙ โดยทั้งสองประเทศจะยกระดับความสัมพันธ์เป็นหุ้นส่วนทางยุทธศาสตร์ (Strategic Partnership) และรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศของทั้งสองฝ่ายได้ร่วมลงนามใน Joint Plan of Action ฉบับแรก ที่ประเทศไทยเมื่อสัปดาห์ที่ผ่านมา นอกจากนี้ อุปทูตฯ ยังได้กล่าวถึงความร่วมมือภายใต้สถาบันความร่วมมือเพื่อการพัฒนาลุ่มน้ำโขง (Mekong Institute) และขอบคุณนิวซีแลนด์ที่ขยายการให้ทุนการศึกษามานาอากิ (Manaaki Scholarship) จาก ๔ ทุน เป็น ๓๙ ทุน
จากนั้น นาย Grahame Morton รองปลัดกระทรวงฯ ได้กล่าวสุนทรพจน์ในนามรัฐบาลและประชาชนชาวนิวซีแลนด์ ร่วมแสดงความยินดีกับประชาชนชาวไทยในโอกาสวันที่ ๕ ธันวาคม รวมถึงการครบรอบ ๗๐ ปีความสัมพันธ์ทางการทูต และความพร้อมของนิวซีแลนด์ที่จะร่วมมือกับไทยอย่างใกล้ชิด โอกาสนี้ H.E. Mr. Grahame Morton รองปลัดกระทรวงฯ ได้กล่าวถวายความอาลัยต่อการสวรรคตของสมเด็จพระนางเจ้าสิริกิติ์ พระบรมราชินีนาถ พระบรมราชชนนีพันปีหลวงด้วย
ภายในงานมีการจัดฉายวิดีทัศน์การเสด็จพระราชดำเนินเยือนนิวซีแลนด์อย่างเป็นทางการเมื่อปี พ.ศ. ๒๕๐๕ ของพระบาทสมเด็จ พระบรมชนกาธิเบศร มหาภูมิพลอดุลยเดชมหาราช บรมนาถบพิตร และสมเด็จพระนางเจ้าสิริกิติ์ พระบรมราชินีนาถ พระบรมราชชนนีพันปีหลวง วีดิทัศน์เทิดพระเกียรติ Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, The Queen Mother: A Legacy that Touched the World วีดิทัศน์เทิดพระเกียรติสมเด็จพระนางเจ้าสิริกิติ์ พระบรมราชินีนาถ พระบรมราชชนนีพันปีหลวงกับการต่างประเทศ วีดิทัศน์นิทรรศการชุดไทย และวีดิทัศน์ประชาสัมพันธ์การท่องเที่ยวไทย ตลอดจนการเปิดเพลงพระราชนิพนธ์บรรเลงในรัชกาลที่ ๙ และมีการแสดงทางวัฒนธรรม ฟ้อนรำไทย มวยไทย สาธิตแกะสลักผักผลไม้ การให้บริการอาหารไทยจากร้านอาหารไทยและชุมชนไทยในกรุงเวลลิงตัน พร้อมการสนับสนุนจากหน่วยงานและผู้สนับสนุน ได้แก่ การท่องเที่ยวแห่งประเทศไทย (สำนักงานซิดนีย์) สำนักงานส่งเสริมการค้าในต่างประเทศ (นครซิดนีย์) บริษัท ไทยเบฟเวอเรจ จำกัด (มหาชน) Cardrona Distillery และ บริษัท บุญรอดบริวเวอรี่ (สิงห์ คอร์เปอเรชั่น จำกัด)
ในโอกาสนี้ สถานเอกอัครราชทูตฯ ขอขอบคุณชุมชนไทยและพันธมิตรทุกฝ่ายที่มีส่วนร่วมและให้การสนับสนุน จนทำให้งานเลี้ยงรับรองครั้งนี้ประสบความสำเร็จอย่างงดงาม และเป็นอีกหนึ่งบทพิสูจน์แห่งมิตรภาพอันยั่งยืนระหว่างประเทศไทยกับนิวซีแลนด์
The Reception of the National Day of the Kingdom of Thailand,
the Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty the Late King Bhumibol Adulyadej,
and Thailand’s Father’s Day, 5 December 2025
On 2 December 2025, Mrs. Kanamon Senanarong, Chargé d’Affaires, a.i., of the Royal Thai Embassy in Wellington, hosted a reception to mark the Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty the Late King Bhumibol Adulyadej, Thailand’s National Day and Father’s Day.
The event was honoured by the presence of H.E. Mr. Grahame Morton, Deputy Secretary of the Asia and Americas Group, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of New Zealand, as Guest of Honour, together with H.E. Mr. Alfredo Pérez Bravo, Dean of the Diplomatic Corps and Ambassador of Mexico. Over 200 distinguished guests attended, including the Diplomatic Corps, Members of Parliament, government agencies, academia, private sector, and members of the Thai community across New Zealand.
In her welcoming remarks, Mrs. Senanarong paid tribute to Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, The Queen Mother, and recalled Their Majesties’ historic State Visit to New Zealand in 1962 which laid the early foundation of the bilateral relationship. She highlighted that next year will mark 70 years of diplomatic relations between Thailand and New Zealand, with both countries agreeing to elevate ties to a Strategic Partnership spanning trade, security, tourism, and people-to-people connections, including the signing of the first Joint Plan of Action by the Foreign Ministers of both countries in Thailand just a week ago. She also expressed appreciation for New Zealand’s expansion of the Manaaki Scholarship programme for Thai students from 4 to 39 scholarships, and reaffirmed Thailand’s commitment to deepening cooperation with New Zealand.
Mr. Morton, in his remarks, conveyed condolences on the passing of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, The Queen Mother, and emphasized New Zealand’s readiness to further strengthen relations with Thailand as the two countries approach the 70th Anniversary milestone.
The reception featured a video presentation of the 1962 historic State Visit, exhibitions, cultural performances including Thai dances and Muay Thai demonstrations, and displays of Thai culinary arts. Guests enjoyed a wide selection of Thai cuisine prepared in collaboration with Thai restaurants and chefs in Wellington, with generous support from sponsors including the Tourism Authority of Thailand (Sydney Office), Thai Trade Centre (Sydney Office), Thai Beverage Public Company Limited, Cardrona Distillery, Boon Rawd Brewery (Singha Corporation Co. Ltd.).
