เมื่อวันที่ ๔ กันยายน ๒๕๖๘ นายวราวุธ ภู่อภิญญา เอกอัครราชทูต พร้อมด้วยคณะเจ้าหน้าที่สถานเอกอัครราชทูตฯ และชุมชนไทยในนิวซีแลนด์ ได้เข้าร่วมงานพระราชพิธีขึ้นครองราชสมบัติ (Koroneihana) ของ Te Arikinui Nga wai hono i te po พระราชินีพระองค์ใหม่ของชาวเมารี  ที่พระราชวัง Tuurangawaewae Marae เมืองแฮมิลตัน มีบุคคลสำคัญทั้งในนิวซีแลนด์และหมู่เกาะแปซิฟิก รวมถึงคณะทูตกว่า ๔๕ ประเทศ สื่อมวลชน และประชาชนรวมกว่า ๓,๐๐๐ คนเข้าร่วม ซึ่งพระราชพิธีครั้งนี้ยังถือเป็นปฐมฤกษ์ของพระราชพิธีขึ้นครองราชสมบัติ (1st Anniversary Coronation) ของพระราชินีพระองค์ใหม่ของชาวเมารีด้วย 

On 4 September 2025, H.E. Mr. Waravuth Pouapinya, Ambassador, together with the Embassy’s staffs and members of Thai community in Aotearoa New Zealand, attended the auspicious Koroneihana Coronation Ceremony of Te Arikinui Nga Wai Hono i te Po, Her Majesty the Queen of Māori at the Tuurangawaewae Marae in Hamilton.

 The Coronation was graced by distinguished guests from across New Zealand and the Pacific Islands, Ambassadors and representatives from over 45 countries, medias, and general public in total of more than 3,000 participants. In this occasion, the Ambassador joined the Diplomatic Corps in congratulations and blessing to Her Majesty the Queen of Māori. The Coronation also marked the first anniversary of Her Majesty’s accession to the throne.
