On 24 September 2019, Consul-General Krit Tankanarat of Thailand paid a courtesy call on Governor Toshizo Ido of Hyogo Prefecture at the Hyogo Prefectural Government Office. Both sides exchanged views on ways and means to strengthen cooperation in various fields, especially in the area of economic cooperation and Consul-General Krit expressed his intention to meet with the Japanese private sector to exchange views and build network. In September 2019, the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Osaka organized a project on technological innovation and smart farming in Bangkok and Chiang Mai, inviting a representative from Hyogo Prefecture to join in the project.
