On 19 January 2013, nine Buddhist monks convened at the Royal Thai Consulate-General, Penang, to pray for the good health of HM the King of Thailand on the occasion of HM the King’s 85th Royal Birthday Anniversary.  Mrs. Srirat Vathesatogkit, Consul-General, presided over the ceremony.  The Thai community was also present at the ceremony and together gave alms to the Buddhist monks.  Afterwards, Consul-General hosted a lunch for the Thai community who attended the ceremony.  This was a good occasion to pay reverence to HM the King as well as promote unity amongst the Thai community.
