During their stay in Thailand, the participants had a working lunch with Mr. Manasvi Srisodapol, Director-General of the Department of Information and Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand. They also paid a courtesy call on Mr. Jakkrit Srivali, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Information and were briefed by the Department of ASEAN Affairs and the Department of East Asian Affairs on Thailand’s foreign policies towards ASEAN and East Asia. They visited the National Economic and Social Development (NESDB) to meet Mr. Porametee Vimolsiri, Deputy Secretary General of the NESDB and discuss Thailand’s policies and strategies towards ASEAN Economic Community in 2015. 

On the social and cultural part, the participants went to Thai PBS to study the roles of public media in Thai society. They also visited the Ananta Samakhom Throne Hall to view the Arts of the Kingdom Exhibition. Before returning to their countries, the delegation, led by Mr. Peerasak Chantavarin, Ambassador Attached to the Ministry, flew to Chiang Rai to visit the Doi Tung Development Project and the Hall of Opium in order to learn about Thailand’s successful approach to alternative sustainable livelihood development.
