On 8 May 2013, a group of six lecturers and researchers from Dhurakij Pundit University (DPU)’s Faculty of Law, led by Asst. Prof. Thanee Vorapatr, Vice Dean of Academic Affairs, and Ms. Srisurak Siwanna, Vice Dean of Administrative Affairs, paid a courtesy call on Mr. Marut Jitpatima, Ambassador of Thailand to Singapore, and exchanged information and opinions with Embassy staff on its current research projects on civil and commercial laws in ASEAN countries. The project was a comparative legal study commissioned by Thailand’s Ministry of Justice, with the purpose of preparing and streamlining Thailand’s legal framework towards the ASEAN Community in 2015. The group visited Singapore to learn about commercial dispute resolution and Singapore’s advanced system of alternative dispute resolution through mediation and judicial arbitration.
