On 13 May 2013, Consul-General of Thailand in Mumbai presented 95,319 Rupees to Phramaha Yanakrit Chakbodin, President of the  Mahachula Alumni & Thai Students Association as financial assistance to support the Novice Ordination and Training Program in Summer Season for 2013 project.

     The said project is a collaboration between the Mahachula Alumni & Thai Students Association and the Committee of Buddha Vihar of University of Pune. The objective of the program is to cultivate Buddhism for Indian youths. 50 Indian children will be ordained as novices during May 19 – June 2, 2013 and will participate in activities such as Dhamma studies, Buddhist chantings, meditation as well as social work.
