On 29 April 2013, a group of students and teachers from educational institutions in Nakorn Sawan Province participated in "Thailand Workshops: Community Outreach Programme" at CHIJ Katong Convent, Singapore. Supported by the Royal Thai Embassy, Singapore, this workshop introduces basic Thai culture and tradition to the Singaporean students including Thai greetings, language, dance and traditional costumes. Around 500 students at CHIJ Katong Convent took part in the session.
"Thailand Workshops: Community Outreach Programme" is a project supported by the Royal Thai Embassy, and is organised by Ms. Paphutsorn Wongratanapitak, Director of Kansadaeng Watthanatham Co., Ltd. in collaboration with Thai Dance Society Singapore and educational institutes in Thailand. The program has an objective to promote Thai culture and tradition among students in schools and universities in Singapore, through introduction of basic Thai culture and tradition including Thai language, Thai dance, and traditional Thai costumes. Since March 2013, eight workshops have been conducted throughout various schools and universities in Singapore, with the participation of around 2,000 Singaporean students.
