The Royal Thai Embassy in Lisbon organized “Dhamma Mobile Service in Portugal” from 9-12 May 2013. The purpose of the project was to provide the Thai community in Portugal and the interested public an opportunity to learn about “Dhamma” by nature and practice properly meditation, through Buddhism.The activities were conducted by AjahnVajiro, head of the Buddhist Theravada Monastery in Lisbon and his assistant, AppamadoBhikkhu, on the engaging topic “Cultivating Wisdom and Clarity, Using Tools from Buddhism”.

On 9 May 2013, AjahnVajiro gave a Dhamma talk at Champalimaud Foundation with participation of around 90 members of Thai community and interested public. From 11-12 May 2013, AjahnVajiro, together with AppamadoBhikkhu and the Embassy’s diplomats and staff, went to visit Porto (310 kms. north of Lisbon) and offered a number ofDhammatalks and meditation courses to around 70 Thai and Portuguese, with kind collaboration of Mr. RuiRibeiro, Honorary Consul of Thailand to Porto who accommodated his office space for the activity.
