On 2 August 2013, H.E. Mr. Poldej Worachat, Thai Ambassador to Sri Lanka and Mr. Chavalit Rojjanaprapayon, Consul (Commercial), Royal Thai Consulate, Chennai, gave “Thai Select” Certificates to 4 Thai restaurants in Colombo: Cinnamon Lakeside’s Royal Thai, Siam House, Lemongrass and Jack Tree.

     Thai Select certification is organized by Department of International Trade Promotion, Ministry of Commerce of Thailand. The project aims to identify Thai restaurants that offer at least 60 percent authentic Thai foods on their menus. The certificates also imply that these restaurants employ the same or similar cooking methods as in Thailand and import ingredients from Thailand.
