On 9 August 2013, Mr. HatsachaiPrahanphap, HR Managerfrom the Myanmar Office of Siam Cement Public Company Limited (SCG), gave a special career lecture for the students who study Thai language at the Yangon University of Foreign Languages (YUFL).
Thelecture, organized for the first time for final-year students, was an initiative of the Royal Thai Embassy under the Project of Curriculum Development in Teaching Thai Language at YUFL. The main purpose is to equip these students with necessary skills to prepare them for their employment and future careers, including the interview techniques, how to be prepared and adapt to the new working environment after graduation, development of necessary inter-personal skills, and useful tips for successful careers.
Mr. Hatsachai shared his know-how as HR Manager and experiences working with SCG for 20 years. Speaking in Thai, the students understood the lecture well which demonstrate their proficiency in the language.
SCG is a leading company in Thailand with their outstanding policy of personnel development. SCG has run a successful business in Myanmar, thanks to the support of the Government and the people of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar. This initiative is also part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to return profits to the Myanmar society.
The Royal Thai Embassy attaches importance to engaging YUFL lecturers and students in activities that would help promote the use of Thai language and learning of Thai cultures as a means to further strengthen people-to-people relations and to expose them to Thai people andgenuine way of Thai life. At the same time, the Embassy’s efforts to engage the Thai companies in CSR activities have been well received. Many companies have offered all the support they can lend to help further strengthen the relations between Thailand and Myanmar.
