On 22 September 2013, Mrs. Kesanee Palanuwongse, Deputy Consul General, participated in the ceremony to appoint Mr. Marut Maitree as the first Thai to be "Lay Assistant Minister" to Saint Luke's Anglican Church. Bishop Robert Forsyth, Bishop of Sydney, also joined the ceremony. In the same occasion, the Deputy Consul General has officially unveiled the sign "Thai Christian Community at Saint Luke's Anglican Church". The ceremony was attended by a number of members from Thai Christian and Thai Buddhist Community.
