On 30 September 2013, Ms. Panpimon Suwannapongse, Thai Consul-General in Ho Chi Minh City, met with Associate Professor Dr. Phan Van Hoa, Dean of the University of Danang, to discuss steps to develop the Thai Studies programme at the University, which is a distinguished tertiary institution in the central part of Vietnam.  On this same occasion, the Thai Consul-General granted scholarships to 4 undergraduate students who major in the Thai language study at the aforesaid University.
