On 1 November 2013, H.E. Mr. Marut Jitpatima, Ambassador of Thailand, as well as officers from the Royal Thai Embassy and Team Thailand, participated in “Loy Kratong 2013” event at Town Plaza, UTown, National University of Singapore. The event was hosted by the Thai Language Programme and the International Relations Office of NUS. On this occasion, Ambassador Marut gave a welcoming remark, illustrating the importance of “Loy Kratong” (latern floating) and its relationship with the Thai way of life and showing gratitude towards NUS for hosting such an important event.  

     In addition to floating the “Kratong”, made by NUS students together with the Friends of Thai Labour Association, the event features musical performance by NUS students and free Thai food, donated by the Royal Thai Embassy, the Offices of 3 Military Attaches, as well as the Thai Language Programme and other agencies.
