At around 03.00 hrs, three explosive devices went off near the 14 October Monument but no one was injured. At 04.00 hrs,       a group of bikers were seen throwing makeshift explosives into the same area injuring one person. Both cases are now under investigation. These, however, were isolated incidents and the protests had largely been peaceful.

The spokesperson of Center for the Administration of Peace and Order (CAPO) reaffirmed that CAPO was still using the same measure of crowd control and there was no plan to forcibly break up the protests.

At around 20.30 hrs, Mr. Suthep Thaugsuban, the Secretary-General of the People's Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC), delivered a statement setting 9 December 2013 as the final date for the protest. The PDRC’s Secretary-General called on all citizens who are sympathetic to the PDRC’s cause to join the march against the government on 9 December 2013 with the Government House being the target for the Bangkok’s march and the City Halls being the targets for the march in the other provinces. The PDRC’s Secretary-General reiterated that the movement would be peaceful, calm and without weapons. If the movement fails, the PDRC’s Secretary-General will surrender himself to the authority per the arrest warrants.

The number of the protestors at various main sites at 21.30 hrs was as follows: Democracy Monument – 3,000; Government Complex – 1,400; Ministry of Finance – 1,000; Makwan Bridge – 350; and Nang Lerng intersection – 250.

All three main rally sites of the People's Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC) --- namely Democracy Monument, Ministry of Finance and the Cheang Wattana Government Complex --- remained entirely peaceful throughout the day. Security was reportedly being beefed up at the Cheang Wattana Government Complex, according to media reports, with all access points to the rally site closed except the entrance from Cheang Wattana road.
