On 5 February 2014, 13:00 hrs, Mr.Tharit Pengdit, Director-General, the Department of Special Investigation, briefed the press on the outcome of the meeting of the Center For Maintaining Peace and Order (CMPO) earlier in the day, gist as follows: 

 

First, following the obstructions of advance and general elections, the CMPO has assigned the Metropolitan Police and Provincial Police Regions to investigate 33 cases concerned that occurred in Bangkok and other provinces.

 

Second, the CMPO summoned the Directors of several constituencies to explain the failure to perform duties of electoral officers and the Royal Thai Police and the Bangkok Election Commission (EC) were assigned to proceed the cases.

 

Third, the Anti-Money Laundering Office (AMLO) in cooperation with DSI, the Office of the Narcotics Control Board (ONCB), the Royal Thai Police, and the Revenue Department are taking legal actions against financial supports to the protesters. The AMLO will issue an order to 120 individuals and companies concerned to restrain such actions.

 

Fourth, the CMPO set a team to negotiate with protesters who still blockade the Ministry of Interior to clear the way for officials to enter. The negotiation is in process and if not accomplished by 3 PM of 5 February, the CMPO will proceed with arrest measures.

 

Fifth, following the demonstrations of farmers, it is a protest of people who have difficulties unlike the rally of the People's Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC). As a result, the CMPO has no authority under the Emergency Decree. The government agencies concerned will take actions to solve the problem.

 

Sixth, the Immigration Bureau reported that officials have had sufficient evidences to proceed the deportation against Mr.Sathit Segal, a PDRC leader who was charged as an alien migrant.
