Thai People in Sri Lanka Making Merit on Makha Puja Day

On 16 February 2014, Royal Thai Embassy, Colombo, Sri Lanka invited 5 Thai monks to make a sermon on the occasion of Makha Puja Day (Navam Poya in Sri Lanka).In this connection, the Embassy and the Thai people in Sri Lanka offered food to the monks after the ceremony. Around 70 people participated in the event.
The event was organized to strengthening the unity and cooperation among Thai citizens in Sri Lanka. Currently, around 10 Thai monks and bhikkunis as well as around 100 Thai people reside in Sri Lanka.
