At 13:00 hrs. Mr.Tharit Pengdit, Director-General, the Department of Special Investigations, briefed the press on the outcome of the meeting of the Center For Maintaining Peace and Order (CMPO) earlier in the day, gist as follows:

1. Following the scheduling of the Senate general election for 30 March 2014, the CMPO has coordinated with the Election Commission (EC) to support the police, military, and government agencies concerned in providing security.

2. The CMPO appreciated the decision of protesters at the office of the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) to end their demonstrations. The CMPO has also assigned Major General Surachart Chitjaeng to lead a team to negotiate with Luang Pu Buddha Issara to restore the functioning of government agencies at the Government Complex and on Chaeng Watthana Road.

3. Although the People's Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC) has moved most protest sites to Lumpini Park, the CMPO still has concerns about the demonstrations at Chaeng Watthana Road and the Government House compound, including the PDRC's illegal campaign to shut down government agencies. So far, the PDRC has blockaded 5 places.

4. The CMPO has been monitoring the demonstrations of the United Front of Democracy Against Dictatorship (UDD). The CMPO also wished to request leaders of the UDD not to move the crowd into Bangkok as it might lead to clashes with the PDRC.

5. The CMPO has received a report from the Royal Thai Police, DSI, and Office of the Attorney-General regarding developments in the third summoning of the 53 persons already charged. The list of these persons will be made public later on.
