On 8 April 2014, H.E. Mr. Panyarak Poolthup, Ambassador of Thailand to Vietnam, Embassy officials and family members participated in the traditional New Year celebration organized by the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations (HAUFO) to celebrate the traditional new year of some Asian Countries namely, Cambodia, India, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Sri Lanka and Thailand to enhance cordial relations and understanding between Vietnam and these countries. 

     On this occasion, H.E. the Thai Ambassador, on behalf of all the Ambassadors of the six countries, expressed his gratitude to HAUFO for organizing the annual traditional New Year celebration. He also highlighted the Thai traditional New Year or Songkran festival celebrated each year during 13-15 April as a festival to enhance better understanding and cordial relations between peoples. The Embassy also contributed a dance performance by Thai students studying in Vietnam.
