The Royal Thai Consulate-General, Guangzhou, welcomed the delegation of Mahasarakham Province, Thailand. The delegation was led by Mr. Adul Chantanapum, Vice Governor of Mahasarakham Province, and consisted of 25 representatives from the public sector, as well as the private sector and enterprises in the Province. The goal of this visit was to improve the competitiveness of the private sector and enterprises in the Province in preparation for the upcoming ASEAN Community in 2015.

The Royal Thai Consulate-General coordinated and arranged a trip for the delegation to Guangdong University of Foreign Studies (GDUFS). The delegation met with Mr. Zhong Weihe, Chancellor of GDUFS, listened to an overview introduction of the university, and discussed a possible cooperation with Department of Thai Language of GDUFS in establishing an exchange program between GDUFS and two universities in Mahasarakham Province, Mahasarakham University and Rajabhat Mahasarakham University. The delegation then visited GDUFS Library, as well as Thai Culture Corner that the Royal Thai Consulate-General, Guangzhou, has supported. 

Afterwards, Ms. Boosara Kanchanalai, Deputy Consul-General, and Mr. Pongketsarit Ratasap, Commercial Consul, gave a presentation about overview information as well as trade data and trends of Guangdong and Hainan Provinces to the delegation. 

The delegation then paid a visit to CP Lotus Supermarket Guangzhou Company, which is a Thai company doing business in the city of Guangzhou. The company welcomed the delegation, gave a presentation about the company’s overview, and arranged a short trip for the delegation in visiting the company’s personnel training office and the Lotus Supermarket Hypermart in Sanyuanli District, and then visiting the 115th China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair).
