On 24 April 2014, His Excellency Dr. Itti Ditbanjong, Ambassador of Thailand to the Russian Federation, hosted dinner and exchanged views with the delegation of ASEAN Department, MFA Thailand, led by Dr. Suriya Chindawongse, Director of Political and Security Division. The Delegation participated in the 2nd Workshop on Security Architecture in the Asia-Pacific Region on 25 April 2014, hosted by the Russian Federation. 

The Workshop discussed the initiative of Russia on a document on security architecture in the Asia-Pacific region, as well as the way forward on energy and food security and roles of different security fora in the region. Such participation emphasized the continuation of amicable relationship between Thailand and Russia, amidst the time of international political dynamic.

The Delegation also took the opportunity to meet with the executive of the MGIMO University to explore the way to enhance the role of ASEAN Center in further promoting ASEAN-Russian relation.
