Subject: Declaration of Martial Law Nationwide

As the National Peace and Order Maintaining Council has seized control of the country’s administration from 22 May 2014 at 16.30 hours onwards, and in order to ensure an effective maintenance of peace and order as well as to ensure a prompt return to normalcy for all groups of people concerned; pursuant to Section 4 of the Martial Law Act B.E. 2457 (1914), Martial Law is hereby invoked throughout the Kingdom from 16.30 hours on 22 May 2014 onwards.

This announcement shall take effect immediately until further notice.
