During 13 – 21 September 2014, The Royal Thai Embassy, in collaboration with Supermarket Casa Ley and Asian Food Importer KUME Importaciones, organized the Thai Food Festival at Supermarket Ley, Tres Ríos Branch, in Culiacán, State of Sinaloa, in the Northwestern of Mexico.

During the Festival which lasted ten days, Ms. Benchawan Sangting, Chef of the Thai Ambassador, gave cooking demonstrations to the general public, private cooking classes to the chefs of the Supermarket, and cooked a variety of Thai dishes for sale in the ready-to-eat food section. Many popular Thai dishes such as Pad Thai, Green and Red Curry, Spring Rolls, Fried Pork with Garlic Pepper, and Fried Rice with Pineapple, have received good feedback from the Mexican public. Furthermore, Thai food products were on display in the Supermarket, allowing the customers to buy necessary ingredients back home and cook their own Thai food. Best-selling products are fish sauce, sweet chilli sauce and the ready-to-cook Pad Thai package.

After the Festival, Supermarket Ley has added Pad Thai, Fried Pork with Garlic Pepper and Jasmine rice in their daily menu.
