Ambassador of Thailand to Brazil hosted a luncheon in honour of Brazil’s Director of Department of Commercial Defense (DECOM)

            On 22 October 2014, H.E. Mr. Pitchayaphant Charnbhumidol,  Ambassador of Thailand to Brazil, hosted a luncheon in honour of Mr. Marco César Saraiva da Fonseca, Director of Department of Commercial Defense (DECOM), Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (MDIC) of Brazil and General- Coordinators of DECOM at the residence in Brasilia. 
 
            The Thai Ambassador discussed ways and means to collaborate with DECOM on the ongoing investigation of anti-dumping measures against Thai products. Recently, Brazil has initiated the investigation process of anti-dumping measures on 6 products from Thailand, namely 
            (1) Viscose yarn 
            (2) Polycarbonate resin 
            (3) Motorcycle tires 
            (4) Nylon fibers 
            (5) Truck tires 
            (6) Bus tires. 
 
             In addition, the Thai Ambassador also exchanged views with DECOM’s Director about how to create and enhance technical cooperation between relevant government agencies of the two countries, such as between the Trade Interests and Remedies Division, Department of Foreign Trade of Ministry of Commerce of Thailand and DECOM of Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade of Brazil. The cooperation could help both sides’ exchanges of knowledge and understanding of anti-dumping measures.
