On 2 January 2015, Royal Thai Embassy in Santiago, in collaboration with Villarrica Park Lake Hotel & Spa, organized a Thai Cooking Demonstration for 12 chefs of the Hotel. In the session, four authentic Thai menus were demonstrated, namely, Pad Thai (Stir-fried rice noodles with shrimps), Tom Kha Gai ( Chicken in coconut milk and galangal), Tod Man Goong ( Deep-fried shrimp cakes ) and Yam Neua (Spicy barbecued beef salad). The ingredients used in each dish are originally Thai and available in supermarkets in local area. The purpose of the demonstration is to promote Thai food in the area to which tourists influx all year round.
