On 24 December 2014, H.E. Mr. Panyarak Poolthup, Ambassador of Thailand to Vietnam, attended the donation ceremony to honour and thank persons/organizations which made significant donation in 2014 to the National Fund for Vietnamese Children (NFVC), Vietnamese Government agency mobilizing resources to support Vietnamese impoverished children. The event was presided over by Mrs Nghyen Thi Doan, Vice President of Vietnam and Chairwomen of the NFVC, at the Presidential Palace and Âu Co Theater.
On this occasion, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Doan, thanked the Royal Thai Embassy for the donation and expressed her impression on Thailand when she paid an official visit to the Kingdom. Moreover, she expressed her gratitude to the Royal family of Thailand and showed her appreciation towards the donation made to the school in Quang Ninh under the Youth Development Program in the Asia and Pacific initiated by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn.
On 6 December 2014, the Royal Thai Embassy in Hanoi, in cooperation with the Tourism Authority of Thailand, Ho Chi Minh Office, Thai Airways International, Thailand Foundation, Thai business community in Vietnam and Thai community in Hanoi, organized Thailand Day 2014 with an aim to showcase Thailand in all aspects, especially tourism, culture, food and fruits, as well as to strengthen the Thai community in Hanoi and the Northern provinces. After the event, the proceeds from organizing the event in the amount of 200 million dong were donated to the NFVC to help Vietnamese impoverished children.
